Long Live The Radical
I realize some may perceive me as a “renegade” or even “radical”. I’m
okay with this label, actually I embrace it. After decades of doing things
one way Its always easy to criticize change, a break from the norm, new
ideas and concepts, etc. I know through this website I have already
reached out to many of you. I understand some of the things I have
reported to you are not exactly what you want to hear, but it’s what you
NEED to hear. I know some of these things I have talked about weigh
heavy on the heart, and believe me when I say they aren’t any easier for
me to report to you. As webmaster and founder of a political news site, it
has always been my goal to achieve ultimate transparency by keeping a
watchful eye on our government policy and to promote accountability
through representation of facts. I don’t get paid for any of the work I do.
What I get in return is worth more than any amount of money, I chose this
path to contribute to a greater cause. Through the BRANews website, it
has always been my intention to invite thought and vision to you, the
reader, by helping you build an information arsenal.
They say “where there’s smoke, there’s fire.” But that’s not always the
case. It is my hope, that maybe just maybe; through informed eyes we
can detect the smoke BEFORE the fire. An informed Citizen is the key to
any working Democratic governance. We must remain diligent in our
quest for information and avoid the trickery of “strategic propaganda”,
which is “teaching” by misleading the people into supporting the same
failed policies and the very system that oppresses them. Take for
example the Bush administration and the Iraq War. We were led to
believe in false information that to this day; impacts the lives of our
soldiers, the economy, and our foreign policy.
During the Beloit informational meeting Last January, (which was another
instance of government funded propaganda) Secretary Ford was asked
for her stance on the project and was questioned why she would promote
such a dangerous contract. Our Secretary stated she “was led to believe
it was a good thing” and she “thought it was something different”. Now if
our esteemed Secretary actually read this disastrous contract for herself,
she would have realized the constitutional disregard of its contents.
Whether it was inadvertent blindness or motivated by treacherous politics
is irrelevant. The game of displacement and finger pointing at the
previous Chairman is laughable when she was and is a voting member of
our governing body.
My point I'm trying to make is there are always repercussions to our
actions versus the choices we make, that's life. We must always ask
questions and take nothing for face value because our future and the
futures of our great grandchildren are at stake.
Presently we are on a crash course with the inevitable. Our government
continues to operate under the misguided notion of spending more than
we make. Realistically what is; is unaffordable, and what we make is not
enough. Not only are we drowning ourselves, but we are also enslaving
the next three generations of our children with the debt we have and
continue to accumulate. We have some tough choices ahead of us. We
can continue on this dismal path we’re on, or we can refocus our attention
and strategize a planned course of action.
Now let me sum up our government’s current course of action by
providing you with our Casino’s financial report from July (“our busy
season”). The government doesn’t want you to see what they’ve been up
to and this is supposed to be all hush hush and I’m sure I will catch some
political heat by posting this, but what are they going to do? ...Not give me
a job? Blacklist me from my right to provide for my family? I’m already
there and I got news for you, stifling my freedom isn’t worth their seven
dollar an hour job, and believe me this is just the tip of the ice burg (more
to come). Now when you read this financial document you will see our
Casino Enterprise pulled in a hefty revenue of $1.5 million dollars. As you
read further you will notice that strangely the money transferred out
equals the total revenue for the month ($1.5 million).
According to this financial report, something’s not right here. This is true
documentation of the way our government chooses to operate. Every
penny earned by our Casino was transferred into the General Account.
Where does the money go from there? Does anyone know? Once this
money transfers out, there is zero accountability. It is an infinite cookie jar
and everybody wants their cookie. Meanwhile back at our Casino (our
goose egg), the roof is leaking, we have power failures which compromise
critical computer components, and we have inadequate plumbing in our
public facilities (just to name a few). Towards the entrance as you first
walk in there are plastic tarps over the slot machines, because of our
deteriorating roof. The average casino worker is overworked and
underpaid. At our Gaming commission meetings we are told the average
base wage for the casino employee is $9.18. Upon speaking with
numerous workers, it is evident this statistic is way off base (I'm inclined to
think management is thrown in just to raise this figure).
Now how are we to fix these ailments of our one true money making
enterprise when our government takes every cent our Casino makes?
Where are our reserve accounts for upgrades and repairs (per the
Corporate Charter)? I realize our Charter needs to be updated to fit our
economic needs, but without a real business plan in place we’re running
around like headless chickens, without vision, and no direction. Now I’m
not here to ruffle your feathers, well not intentionally, but hard times are
certainly ahead and we must prepare ourselves through fiscal awareness.
The evidence has already presented itself; the deflation of our dollar with
the ever rising prices of goods and services, unemployment has peaked
to an all time high. While we watch the outside world scramble for
solutions, we can prepare ourselves internally through our localized
government. We must challenge ourselves to balance our spending and
revenue. We need to determine our shortfalls and discuss our necessities
with open transparency to the people. These things I speak of is not that
of a far fetched fairy tale, but that of the most basic ingredients of true
democracy. We are without a doubt at a crossroads my friends. We are at
critical mass and the choices we make now will solidify whatever future we
make for ourselves. We must hold our government accountable and ask
questions. We must remind them this isn't a game of monopoly, this is
real money, our money, and our futures are at stake. In the upcoming
week I'll be talking more about money, big money and where its going.
Stay tuned friends and stay Brave.
