Just afew words to say first it really gets
to me to read some of the stories posted
on here as if trouble just started in Bad
River over the Loretta/Gene movement
nothing has been moving on this res for
25 years besides alot of mouth do you
people think our casino/gas station is
really making a difference here today i
think not thats all we have to show where
did all the hud houses go for our trible
people why was the funding stopped it
seems that the last batch of homes all
went to the staff at the housing office and
afew to council ive been raising three
kids in a trailer home and more then half
who got a new home dont have anyone
under age there some with 5 bedrooms
wow they always say (im for the people)
things will change some day only when
we learn this res was made whole by our
nation of helping each other instead of
putting down the blow that wipes us out
Thank you for reading woodcreek.
First off, I  sympathize with you, for I
too am raising a family of six in a
mobile home. I'm sure there are a lot of
families from Bad River in similar
predicaments and I'm sure we would all
like to know the cause of this housing
crisis in Bad River. Secondly, you
brought up our tribal enterprises and
ask, what do we have to show for it? I
too, and am sure every other tribal
member, would also like to know
where the money has gone? Our tribe
has several documented instances of
theft; casino, store, manpower, etc, etc.
It's impossible for our tribe to make
money when we have these
occurrences happen. What's being
done about these things? A good place
to start is to take a look at our tribal
leaders, department heads, and
director's of these programs;
manpower, casino enterprises,
housing authority, etc, etc. We all have
a constitutional right to know what's
going on with these types of things
that affect us all as one nation. This is
much bigger than a Loretta/Gene
movement, this is a
people movement.
We are experiencing a total breakdown
of transparency in our tribal
government and its adherence of our
constitution. We have serious
questions and we want answers. The
constitution clearly states we are
all
auditors of our tribal government. We
have a right to an open, honest
working government for the people,
and by the people. We must honor and
protect our constitution in order to
preserve our nation's foundation. If we
don't ask the questions to the answers
we seek then what does that say about
us?

Way to go getting that Vote turnout.
Great to see so many concerned
Tribal members showing thier
concern by using thier Voting Power.
With so many on-res members voting
against the previos Chairman,,His
past tricks fail.  Great Job. Mr.
Wiggins has alot of stuff to fix, but I'm
certain he is fully capable of
achieving many ,if not all,of the
problems that have been plagueing
Bad River for decades due to an
inept Tribal Government. Now it's
time for all tribal members to set
aside past differances and help
move Bad River Forward and into
Healing. It's time to break out the
Drum and feel the Heartbeat of
Mother Earth beneath our feet and
bringing us all together for the well
being of Land,Health,and the future
prosperity of our Youth. Let's get
that Gym open more for the Youth
and those OLD FOLKS LOL,,who need
to workout,,FIRST. That's should be
easy and will not only benefit the
youths health,,but give them
something fun and clean to do.
Winters just about here,,so let's all
get some frustration out,,and have a
few SNOWBALLS fights ( No
ICEBALLS PLEASE LOL ) and let's stay
away from the DREADED,,YELLOW
SNOWBALL. Today,,The future looks
brighter for Bad River and I feel
GREAT. Let's be a United Tribe again
and Let's have some fun together.
Things will get done and Things will
get better. I feel it. Let's all lighten up
and give our new Government a
hand.

I would be amazed if you were to
post this! Have you ever stopped to
think that individuals may have quit
their positions with the Tribe due to
reasons related to the new
administration? One very good
reason would be the fact that Etta
Burns was terminated (for cause)
from a possition of confidence, of
which she violated against an
employee (tribal member). The
individuals that were brave enough
to terminate her despite what others
may think can't be expected to work
along side someone of such
questionable character. Are your
records safe? I think not! This
person has no problem disclosing
your personal information in the
name of the right for everyone to
know what she thinks is their
business. She can not and should
not be trusted in such a high political
position. On another note, I would
suggest you move ahead with
caution when it comes to using
private individuals names on your
web site, if they are not elected
officials or without their written
permission. You may be setting
yourself up for a law suit. Lots of luck
getting through the next 2 years with
this Council!
Thank you for reading ExMan. In
response to your questions, I
generally formulate my opinions
after I have gathered all the facts
concerning the stories posted on
this website. What you fail to
mention in regards to the
termination of Etta Burns is she
had exposed the tribe had been
paying the vice-chairman the same
wage as our ex-tribal chairman.
Two tribal chairman's salaries
totalling over $2,400 a week is
hardly a confidential matter. It is
every tribal employee's
responsibility to expose corruption
when found. The two "employees"
involved were actually elected
officials, thus making their records
right to public knowledge. As far as
your idle threats of  law suits are
concerned, the Bad River
Constitution clearly states; We are
all auditors of our tribe. I haven't
posted anything dishonest or out
of bounds. I have signed my name
to and stand by what I have posted
on this website. I challenge you to
sign your name and try to take my
Constitutional right from me in a
court of law. In closing, if this past
week is any inkling of how the next
two years are going to play out,
then our Nation is definitely on the
right path.

large numbers being thrown around? I
still don't understand how 2 elected
officials whose tenure was up can justify
a departing package...if that wasn't a
reach then tell me how employee's who
quit can get any compensation from the
tribe? It sounds like mr exman and the
rest of the good ole boys are a little
scared of a little transparency.

so who closed beartrap road to shinners

landing has been shined every night past
houses and private lands owned by
natives but ask a warden to check on it
nothing was ever done perhaps i need to
start a web site so all of us can have the
same treatment damn and this site is for
the rights of all the BAD RIVER NATION ?
Boozhoo woocreek, If you have
concerns of deer shiners, I suggest
attending a council meeting and
voicing your concerns. I understand
your frustration with your situation as I
am familiar with what you are going
through. With that being said, I
strongly disagree with your
accusations of special treatment. I live
in my own home and I receive no
benefits or assistance from the tribe in
any way. I pay for this website out of
my own pocket as a service to our
people so they may stay informed of
what's going on with our government.
If you want to make your own website
with your own agenda, go for it.. I've
already told you mine.

What does it take to wake some people
up? How do you turn a Greedy Selfish soul
into a caring and sharing one? When do
those that have stolen learn to STOP and
learn that ,today, they have enough? After
all, this is not about the entire world nor
even the entire country but the Bad River
Community. This is a community that is
made up of all your relatives. In one way or
another we are all family. I know some do
not like each other, but when you do not
like another individual or group of
people,one does not have to
attack,alienate,and discriminate against
every member of that!family. Now, Maybe
the previous tribal government operated
that way,but we all know that it was
WRONG. It's not that hard to work together
for the betterment of all. I assure you,,that
if,,more work together and put differances
aside for a time,,in the end,,not only will a
person feel happier and content but alot,if
not all thier family members shall be
happier also. Heal,,,and it helps those
around you Heal. If you are too selfish to
do it for Bad River as a entity,or the future
of Bad Rivers Children,,Then do it for
yourself,,but STOP  pulling that stuff out of

discontent and chaos amongst the tribe!!
